Kees is the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower representative for the Netherlands and Belgium.
Kees has a lot of experience working on projects for people with ASD. Flying with autism was an award-winning project to improve the procedures at airports and airlines for people with autism.
Prior to working at Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, Kees worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for 39 years in several functions. During his time there, Kees worked on several projects for people with ASD. The most notable being “Flying with autism”, an award-winning project to improve the procedures at airports and airlines for people with autism.
As a Senior Customer Care agent, Kees was confronted with the troubles people with hidden disabilities face every day. In 2019 Kees introduced the Sunflower lanyard to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. After the Sunflower proved a success at the airport, Kees and his team introduced the Sunflower to museums, public transport, supermarkets and other public places in the Netherlands. Now, as part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower team, Kees has the potential to expand the scheme further, across both the Netherlands and Belgium.
When Kees isn't working he loves to spend time with his two daughters, one of whom is diagnosed with ASD. Kees also enjoys walking and doing creative things with his daughters, like singing and drawing.

Ruth Rabét is the Business Development Director at Hidden Disabilities. Her role is to raise Sunflower awareness among businesses and other organisations throughout the UK. Ruth is also responsible for the growing network of global airports that have adopted the Sunflower.
Prior to joining the Hidden Disabilities team, Ruth spent 35 years working in Aviation holding various roles in Airline Operations. Her final 5 years were spent managing the Assistance Team at Gatwick Airport, a role that would see her play an integral part in creating the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
Ruth recognises that having a hidden disability dramatically affects how people perform in everyday life and the nature of the disability makes it difficult for other people to recognise them. Therefore, the work that the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is doing, is so important to her.
When Ruth isn't banging the Hidden Disabilities drum, she can be found walking her dog Mille, or enjoying a meal out.
Get in touch with Ruth if you would like to learn more about the Hidden Disability Sunflower.

When Paul isn't animating he can often be found cycling the Essex countryside and frequenting local coffee shops.
