Lorina aged 18 was diagnosed with (Autism and dyspraxia) When she was younger she was told that she would likely not be able to ride a bike due to balance and gross motor skills. She also struggles to socialise and understand social cues from people.

Lorina started skiing 3 1/2 years ago She joined the Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB) in 2018 to allow her to compete on an equal basis. Special Olympics is the 3rd Olympic movement and is for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are categorised by ability rather than age. There are three categories Advanced, Intermediate and Novice. Despite it being her first time on “proper” snow Lorina won Gold in Slalom, Bronze in Super G and Gold in Giant Slalom in her category.
