Back to Campus

With students going back to Campus, either as freshers or returning to their studies, here is a list of Universities and colleges that recognise the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. Each of these has trained their staff to identify and understand the meaning of the Sunflower as well as to offer any support or understanding that the wearer might need.

Be visible when you choose to be seen

If you are attending one of the locations listed below, wear the Sunflower to discreetly highlight that you have a hidden disability and to enable others to recognise that you may need some extra time, care or patience. For students with hidden disabilities, Sunflower products can be obtained from the diversity and inclusion team at each University or College.

Campus, the Sunflower and lockdown

Maddie White, a first-year student at Bristol University and Sunflower wearer has recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently locked down in her halls of residence for a prolonged period of time. Having a hidden disability is hard and can be even harder in lockdown. Find out what Maddie’s up to and, more importantly, how she’s coping in this series of Maddie's lockdown sunflower diaries.

Lockdown: Day 18

It's day 18 of Maddie's campus lockdown. How's she coping? Today Maddie talks about having a hidden disability in lockdown and shares some of her coping mechanisms.
A growing number of universities and colleges recognise the Sunflower. Each of these has trained staff to identify and understand the meaning of the Sunflower and assist students that opt to wear it.
